Stand Still

14 February 2011

In reading the following scripture and quote, I felt to incorporate it in a message for the church. Too often we are trying to take care of things ourselves, rather than allowing God to take care of it. Like any father he simply waits for his children to call. It is only then that he can express the fatherly attribute. If you need something fixed in life, call on your Father and once you have requested His assistance, stand still.

II CHRONICLES 20:15-17
15  And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
16   To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
17   Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

Here we are at the Red Sea; we’re inexperienced. The Red Sea, when they come there, they was at a place where God had to do something. I preach Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. Stand still and see the glory of God. It’s not your battle to begin with; it’s God’s battle. It isn’t your promise to begin with; it’s God’s promise. And here I stand tonight; it’s not my worry to find out about this woman. It’s God’s promise to do it. That’s right. I just stand still, and the glory of God does the work. I put one of my own words in, it wouldn’t be right. I don’t put my words in; I just stand still, let God do it. Don’t you get worked up, say, “Well, if I had a prayer card…” Stand still.

  1. Church, what a blessed group of people we are to sit under a pastor and an evangelist brother that do not cut corners. They tell us the truth and I like that. What a honor it is to be corrected, when we are wrong. To be able to receive correction when you know that you are wrong. Here are some scriptures to support what I am saying. Hebrews 12: 5-8 says, ‘my son despise, not the chastening of the LORD, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: Who he loves, He chasteneth.’ Receive it and respect it. It’s GOD himself dealing with us. We receive correction from our job, at home, from the law, from the armed forces like the Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force. We also receive correction from our doctors and school teachers. If we take it from them, let’s take it from our ministers, our deacons, and other leaders in the church. Here is a soldier that took correction, when he was wrong, King David. When God sent Nathan the prophet to tell him of his sin. David’s response was, I have sinned against the LORD. He took his correction. He didn’t rebel against it. He quickly repented of it. What about you? What about me, sister or brother? We got to display a repenting heart. Just like God sent Nathan to David, God sent the five fold ministry to us to give us a chance to make it right. I had to share this as it would not leave my heart. Its been on my heart for weeks now. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

    God bless you,

  2. I was not in the service on Friday, June 17, 2011, but when I listened to the service on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, I begin to think I was there. The things that he talked was for me and my problems. It was like he was talking to me in person. Only GOD can do that. Thank you Bro. Caleb. I also noticed you really didn’t no which direction to take, but GOD did. He directed your thoughts to my very needs. The things that I am going through. I like to emphasize on the devil can huff and puff, but he can’t blow our house down. Thank you JESUS. There is much more that I can say, but, I will give someone else a chance.

    God Bless You.

  3. This so true, too often as children of GOD we are not patient and we take things in our own hands, not seeking God for an answer. I for one have done that. As you grow you want what everybody has; a job, a car but it feels like you are stuck. But I learned when it is time I will have it, if I just belive and stand still.
